My name is Sandra.
I am reaching out to people asking them to donate to help me stay in my home. I have a Wonderful To Me, fully wheelchair accessible home and I am in danger of losing it because I couldn't afford to pay the taxes and insurance, which in turn made my monthly payments jump from $485 (which was manageable) to nearly four times as much.
As I write this, I am two months arrears in payments.
I've tried doing a mortgage modification with my lender but was turned down twice because they feel I don't earn enough on Disability to make the payments. In all honesty, even if I only used my Disability allotment to pay the current monthly mortgage payments (1651.00), I would STILL need an additional $200.00 to pay it in full each month. Which means I would not be able to pay any of my other utilities or eat.
I've tried two of the mortgage help programs and have been denied on the first one -again, because I don't earn enough on Disability. The second one, I have just begun the process.
I don't want to get further and further behind. So I am reaching out to those who have once been in my position, to those who have a disabled loved one and understand the difficulty in finding wheelchair accessible housing, to those who just want to help. I believe that many hands working together can make a BIG difference.
No amount will be too small and I will personally write emails of Thanks to all who are able to contribute.
